Your day in the stars

This is a series of zodiac signs that I completed for the Mercury‘s daily guide to the stars . It was nice to be able to explore a few different concepts for some of the signs and to try to break away a little from the more common interpretations of the zodiac. My favourite is Aquarius, who I changed from the usual water bearer to a surfer. Libra was fun too, with a slightly different take on the idea of scales. Each illustration began as a very rough drawing in pencil on scraps of A4 photocopy paper. I then scanned each drawing and traced over them in Adobe Illustrator, creating vector line work to provide the flexibility of reducing or enlarging the artwork with no loss of quality and sharpness.
